It is incredibly disturbing to realize that there are young, female viewers out there who believe that it is acceptable for the Carter character to run around in sleazy attire, simply because the actress looked attractive dressed in such clothes. The way the character has been dressed and portrayed is an insult to professional women world-wide who have had to struggle to remain on level ground in male-dominated environments.
Your writing and production practices have young viewers believing that skimpy tank tops and tight, sexy leather makes bad decisions acceptable. These young girls are growing up believing that bad behavior and ill-conceived courses of action are just fine as long as they look good doing it.
I've been annoyed as hell with the direction you've taken with Carter since the end of Season Seven, but seeing the effect on young women has finally prompted me to say something. If you can't portray her as a competent military officer, if you can't acknowledge her mistakes and have her deal with them, and if you can't dress her like a competent military officer, then do us all a favor, and write the character out completely. If you can't write competent women who do their jobs, then stick to writing men.
Thank you,
